A mobile-mcp Alternative When the Phone Shouldn't Live on Your Desk

mobile-mcp is a good open-source MCP server for driving a phone or simulator attached to your own machine, and Mobile Next Cloud rents real devices by the minute. ERIUS PHONE is a third shape: one Android cloud phone your agent keeps, signed in and installed, at a flat price. Here is when each one is the right call.

What mobile-mcp and Mobile Next Cloud are

Free on your machine, metered in the cloud.

We checked the mobile-mcp repository and Mobile Next's cloud page on 10 October 2026. mobile-mcp is Apache-2.0 licensed, has about 8.8k GitHub stars, and installs with npx @mobilenext/mobile-mcp@latest. It works with iOS simulators, real iPhones, Android emulators and real Android devices. It runs on your computer: you need Node.js 20 or newer, Xcode command line tools for iOS or Android Platform Tools for Android, and a device or emulator that is attached and running.

Mobile Next Cloud is the hosted version from the same team: real iOS 17+ and Android 12+ devices on demand. The Hobby tier is free with 10 minutes a day and no card. Starter is $29 a month with 200 device minutes and Team is $299 a month with 2,500 minutes; overage is $0.15 a minute. Its page describes on-demand sessions where “each session is fully isolated”, with session traces and screen recordings.

If you already have a phone on your desk and you are sitting at it, mobile-mcp is free and hard to beat. If you need to run an .ipa on a real iPhone, Mobile Next Cloud does that and ERIUS PHONE does not.

Side by side

mobile-mcp and Mobile Next Cloud vs. ERIUS PHONE

mobile-mcp · Mobile Next Cloud

  • mobile-mcp: free and open source (Apache-2.0), iOS and Android
  • Runs locally: needs Node.js 20+, Xcode or Android tools, and your own device or emulator switched on
  • Mobile Next Cloud: real iOS and Android devices, free 10 minutes a day
  • Metered by the minute: $29 buys 200 minutes a month, then $0.15 a minute
  • On-demand isolated sessions with traces and replay
  • Self-serve signup, no card for the free tier

ERIUS PHONE

  • Hosted: nothing to install on your machine but an HTTP client (or our MCP package)
  • Android only — no iPhone, no iOS simulator
  • A virtualized Android 13 phone in its own container, not a physical handset
  • Flat preview price: $39/mo for one phone, no minutes to count
  • One persistent phone: installed apps and sign-ins are still there tomorrow
  • Voice and video calls with your agent over WhatsApp or Telegram; no self-serve signup yet

Where ERIUS PHONE is the better fit

When the agent needs its own phone, not a session on one.

It keeps running when your laptop is closed. mobile-mcp drives a device attached to the machine it runs on, so the agent's reach ends when that machine sleeps or the cable comes out. An ERIUS PHONE device lives in our cloud and is reached over plain HTTP from wherever your agent runs.

A phone that remembers. Mobile Next Cloud's page describes isolated on-demand sessions, which is what you want for clean test runs. ERIUS PHONE is built for the other case: one phone that belongs to one agent, where the apps it installed from Google Play and the accounts you signed in to are still there next week.

Flat price for long-running work. 200 minutes is a little over three hours a month. That is plenty for release checks and not much for an agent that works in apps every day. ERIUS PHONE's preview price is $39 a month per phone regardless of how long it is used.

Calls. ERIUS PHONE supports one-to-one voice and video calls with your agent over WhatsApp and Telegram, and the API can play audio into the phone's microphone. Neither the mobile-mcp README nor the Mobile Next Cloud page mentions calling.

Where we lose, plainly. mobile-mcp is free and open source; ERIUS PHONE is neither. We have no iOS at all. Mobile Next Cloud runs real devices and ours are virtualized, so some banking, DRM and game apps refuse to run on them. ERIUS PHONE is in early access: there is no self-serve signup, devices and API keys are issued by hand, and online payment is not live yet. The prices we publish ($39/mo for one phone, $129/mo for three) are preview prices. We have no free tier and no session replay.
