Hardline alternative

A Hardline Alternative When You Don't Need the SIM

Hardline Phone rents you a real Android handset in the US with a real SIM and phone number. That is exactly right for some jobs and overkill for others. ERIUS PHONE is a virtual Android phone at about half the price, built for agents that need to read and operate apps rather than own a US number. Here is the honest split.

What Hardline offers today

Real hardware, a real US number, paid in crypto.

We checked hardlinephone.com on 10 October 2026. The Remote Access Android plan is $80 a month: a dedicated physical Android phone (the site gives a Motorola Moto G 5G as an example) located in the US, with a real SIM, a real US number and mobile data, controlled from your browser. A $120 plan adds a physical camera pointed at the screen. Signup needs only an email, with no identity check.

Payment is crypto only: the site lists Bitcoin, USDT, USDC and Lightning, and shows no card option. After payment it says to expect an email within 48 hours, usually under 24. The “Robot arm iPhone” is on the pricing section marked “Coming Soon”, so no iPhone can be rented there today.

Hardline also publishes an MCP endpoint. Its tool list covers buying a plan, topping up, taking a screenshot, and tapping, swiping, pressing keys and typing ASCII text. An agent can sign up and buy a phone through it without a person involved.

Side by side

Hardline Phone vs. ERIUS PHONE

Hardline Phone

  • Real physical Android handset in the US — not a virtual device
  • Real SIM, real US number and a mobile-data IP
  • $80/mo, or $120/mo with a camera on the screen
  • Crypto only (Bitcoin, USDT, USDC, Lightning); no card option shown
  • Published MCP tools work from screenshots and x/y taps; typing is ASCII-only
  • iPhone listed as “Coming Soon” — not available

ERIUS PHONE

  • Virtualized Android 13 in its own container — not a physical handset
  • No SIM, no phone number, no mobile-carrier IP
  • $39/mo preview price for one phone, $129/mo for three
  • No payment taken during early access; online billing is not live yet
  • Screen returned as an accessibility tree with element refs, plus screenshots, tap-by-text and wait-for-text
  • No iPhone either — and we don't list one

Where ERIUS PHONE is the better fit

When the job is using apps, not holding a US number.

An interface built for agents to read. Hardline's published MCP tools give an agent a screenshot and coordinate taps, so every step needs a vision model to find the button. ERIUS PHONE returns the screen as a text accessibility tree with numbered refs — the agent taps a ref or a visible label, waits for text to appear, and falls back to a screenshot only when it has to. The API also installs an APK directly and reads crash logs, which is what app testing needs.

About half the price, and no wallet needed. $39 a month against $80. And if you or your company can't pay in crypto, Hardline is not an option today. To be straight about our side: ERIUS PHONE doesn't take payment at all yet — early access is free while we onboard teams by hand.

More than one phone. The Team preview plan is three isolated phones for $129 a month, each in its own container on its own network.

Calls and audio. ERIUS PHONE supports one-to-one voice and video calls with your agent over WhatsApp and Telegram, and the API can play audio into the phone's microphone. Hardline's published tool list has no audio tools; its camera option is a camera pointed at the phone's screen.

Where Hardline wins, plainly. It is real hardware with a real SIM. If you need a US mobile number for SMS verification, a carrier IP, or an app that refuses virtual devices, Hardline can do it and ERIUS PHONE can't: our phones are virtual, have no SIM, and aren't Play Protect certified, so some banking, DRM and game apps won't run. Hardline also lets you — or your agent — sign up and buy on your own today, and it has a hosted MCP endpoint. ERIUS PHONE is in early access: there is no self-serve signup, devices and API keys are issued by hand, and online payment is not live yet. The prices we publish ($39/mo for one phone, $129/mo for three) are preview prices.
